VCT flooring is a glue down type flooring, it's water proof, about 5mm thick, and comes in an assortment of colors but you'll mostly see them white with color speckles. You'll see most VCT flooring at Target, Walmart, hospitals, cafeterias, and commercial buildings. They use this flooring b/c it's easy to install and easy to maintain.

VCT stands for vinyl composite tile. This is made from composite material that create a tile that's made of a vinyl in combination with limestone and other types of materials. The vinyl and limestone composites is what make VCT so strong and durable for high traffic flooring. And this is why so many stores and office buildings use VCT flooring.

When cleaning VCT flooring we recommend moping daily and sweeping. After about 6 months to a year we then will recommend doing a varnish or stripping to the floor. When Sunrise Chem-Dry strips the floor we have a few steps that we do when cleaning it: stripping, vacuuming, then neutralize the floor with a mop, and finally waxing. Waxing will be the longest step since you have to wait for each coating to dry. We normally wax the flooring 3-5 times depending on the amount of traffic the floor receives. Here's a video of our cleaning process:
